The velocity of the arrow in composite bows can reach 212 feet per second, compared to the 150 feet per second of the longbow. The Recurve BowThe recurve bow is almost identical to the longbow, except for the tips. The limbs of the recurve bow are bent forward. The ends curve away from the archer when the bow is held in shooting position. An unstrung recurve bow can take on an irregular shape. The recurve shape was made to minimize loading during full draw or let-off and will provide more energy to the arrow compared to a longbow. The longbow of the same top will acquire more weight. The recurve also allows a shorter bow compared to the simple bow for a provided arrow energy. This kind is selected by archers who find it very wieldy to bring very long weapons.The Compound BowThe compound bow is highly advantageous since the shooter is not required to hold the pull weight once the bow is fully drawn. Eccentric cams make the movement highly possible. The hunter can hold the full draw movement for a longer span of time. The compound bow then gets a mechanical advantage compared to other bows. A modern bow or composite bow is a unique type of bow created from laminated wood, fiber glass and plastic. It is affected in a very small way by humidity and temperature, thus giving more accuracy, distance and velocity compared to the longbow. The composite has pulleys set on the end of the limbs. One or two pulleys as a cam, allowing the shooter to hold the full draw position for a long time, with very little effort. Mechanical advantage is also achieved.
